Privacy Policy
Ansaby is a private family-tree app made by WeUXUI. This page explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. Ansaby is built around shared family data: several relatives add to and see the same tree, so “who can see what” is described in more detail than most policies.
1. What we collect
- Account: your phone number (used only to sign you in), your name, and optionally your date of birth, city and a profile photo.
- Family tree data: names, relationship links (parent, spouse, sibling, child), living or deceased status, city, birthdays and anniversaries, photos, and the family level assigned to each person. Some of this is entered by a relative rather than by the person it describes (see section 4).
- Things you post: feed posts and their photos, likes, announcements and RSVPs, and chat messages.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, request time, app version) kept for security and debugging. Ansaby has no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK.
- We do not collect: your contacts list, precise location, or payment details. Ansaby has no purchases.
2. How we use it
- To build and show your family tree and how each person is related to you.
- To deliver posts, announcements and chats to the people you chose, according to each person's family level.
- To sign you in: the one-time code is sent and checked by Google Firebase Phone Authentication.
- To suggest family gatherings. When you tap “Propose it”, the facts already shown on screen (names, the occasion, the date and place) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to phrase an invitation in English and Arabic. Nothing else about your family is sent, and you can edit or discard the result.
3. Who can see your data
- Members of your family tree, according to the audience you choose for each post and the family level of each member. Adding a person to a tree makes their name and relationship visible to the tree's other members. This is the core function of the app, not a sale or a disclosure to outsiders.
- Service providers that process data for us: Google Cloud (hosting and database in the European Union, Belgium region, and photo storage), Google Firebase (phone sign-in), and Anthropic (invitation drafting as described above). They act on our instructions only.
- Nobody else. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers. We would disclose data only if legally required.
4. People who are not Ansaby users
A family tree naturally includes people without an account: deceased relatives, children, and relatives who have not joined. The relative who adds them is responsible for having the right to do so. Any tree member can ask us to remove a living person's entry; a placeholder can also be deleted in the app by the relative who manages it.
5. Children
Ansaby accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Children may appear in a tree as entries created by a parent, but they cannot hold an account.
6. Your choices and rights
- Edit your own details and photo at any time in the app.
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and phone number and detaches you from the tree. Posts and messages you shared with others, and tree entries other relatives created, are kept because other members rely on them.
- Depending on where you live you may have further rights (access, portability, objection). Contact us as described below and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Retention
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Shared content (posts, chats, tree entries) is kept while the tree exists. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
8. International transfers
Data is stored in Google Cloud's European Union region. Sign-in and invitation drafting may involve processing outside the EU by the providers named above, under their standard contractual protections.
9. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses TLS. Data is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud. Sessions use short-lived tokens. Chats are private to their participants but are not end-to-end encrypted.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will show a notice in the app. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
